People who bougth the banks loaned to themselves, relatives, business partners, bogus companies, you name it. Then the government took the unpayed debt, banks ultimately got sold to HSBC, BBVA (Spain) and the like, and we, our sons and grandsons were sold out for the next 20 or so years to pay that debt.
